Peripatetic Teacher -Piano Teacher - Part time, 0.2FTE (1 day per week)
Overview
We are looking for a committed piano teacher to join our wonderful peripatetic instrumental team at Saint Gabriel's College. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience of teaching secondary age children, have experience of preparing students for instrumental examinations (both Classical and Jazz), concerts (internal and external) and be passionate about working with young people to help them achieve their potential. Our preferred teaching day is Friday, but there is the option to be flexible and candidates should contact directly to enquire about other days of the week.

The main purpose of the job role is to enrich the lives of the students of SGC by offering musical experiences appropriate to the needs and aspirations of school.
You will be a committed, enthusiastic musician and teacher able to motivate and inspire pupils, and to communicate with conviction and sensitivity. You should be receptive to new ideas and to be able to work as part of a professional team of teachers dedicated to offering high quality music education.
Main responsibilities
- To plan, prepare and deliver teaching duties appropriate to the skills of the teacher. This may include individual, small group, as well as ensemble training
- To teach according to a recognised scheme of work adopted and approved by the Director of Music
- To liaise with schools and parents in order to meet the individual needs of each student
- To recruit new students to instrumental tuition through demonstrations and performances in and out of school
- To promote additional opportunities for learning, including music centres, courses and other activities provided by the school
