Chaplaincy & Faith

School Chaplain

Our school chaplain is Fr Alan Paterson CMP. Fr Alan is based full-time in the school, is very friendly and available to all staff and students to offer prayer, pastoral care, and spiritual guidance. Fr Alan is also licensed to the local parish, St John the Divine, where the school holds Services at least once a term. He is also forging links with primary schools, youth projects and other local community groups.

Chapel

The school chapel is a calm and welcoming space at the heart of our community.
It offers students and staff a quiet place to pause, reflect, pray, or simply take a moment away from the busyness of the school day. The chapel is used throughout the week for personal reflection, small group gatherings, and moments of spiritual support.

As part of our faith tradition, all students are invited to attend the weekly Eucharist, where they can take part in worship, explore their spirituality, and strengthen their sense of belonging within the Saint Gabriel’s community. Participation is encouraged but optional, ensuring every student can engage at a level that feels right for them.

Our chapel remains a symbol of peace, inclusivity and reflection—supporting the spiritual wellbeing of all who enter.
